Welcome to the Snowglobes section of my site. I'm not ready for "Disney" yet, but I think snowglobes are fun to make. Maybe later I'll try some "real" animations.

The tutorial used for the snowglobes below can be found at "Skeldale House Treasures".

I now make snowglobes differently with glass-like globes and have made my own tutorial for them. It can be found on this site at my Snowglobe Tutorial page. The first page of the tutorial has psp tubes of the glass globe and various coloured ceramic bases so you can make your own snowglobes. *smile*

Lonely Loon

This is my "Lonely Loon".

I can remember many evenings at the cottage at dusk; their haunting call used to echo across the lake.

The base is painstakingly cut out of a picture of a real snowglobe. The rest of the image is made up of tubes. The sky, water and grasses are from Skeldale House Treasures; the loon is from "Sandy's Corner" and the "fireflies" from the "Hoods" fire sparkle at 10%.

I find it easiest to assemble the picture in layers, then merge before animating. That way you can arrange elements without having to redo each tube selection.

Easter Bunny

This one really is a snowglobe. ;-) Happy Easter!

The base is the same shape, but I used a blue marble pattern colour fill and then played with the slider on the base layers.

The rabbit and sand tubes are from Sandy's Corner; the sky is from Skeldale House Treasures and the flakes are the Hood's. The eggs are mine. The wild grasses and the bow are from"Barry and Marg Davies" some fellow Canadians at the western end of the country.

Nativity Scene

This is actually the first snowglobe I made, but it is a bit out of season. I made it at Christmas time, but I hadn't learned HTML yet, so...late is better than never, right? ;-)

The sky is Missi's again, and the snowflakes are "The hoods"; just a little smaller. The clouds are"Lighthouse Blues". He has a large volume of tubes he has painstakingly made from pictures, that one might render a "tube painting". Something I want to try when I get ambitious enough. ;-) The nativity scene of "Precious Moments" figures is from"Rhonnies Stuff". Another site with pages and pages of tubes. Rhonnie specializes in "Disney" cartoon art, but she also has some lovely children oriented tubes.

Spring Hummer

"Spring Hummer" is my latest snowglobe.

It's very similar, construction wise, to the previous base, except I used a green marble fill. The sky and clouds are my own creations using a linear gradient fill and the spray brush. The roses are from "Rhonnie's Stuff", the hummingbird is a tube from "Creations by Wysdom", and the "flakeys" by"Vistar/aka Chico".

I have recently seen some snowglobes with a decorated cone-shaped base that I would like to try next time around. They say that variety is the "spice" of life. ;-)

Mother's Waltz

Happy Mother's Day! "Mother's Waltz" was made for all mothers, but especially some wonderful friends that I have met through a terrific group of ladies at "The Rosegarden".

The tube for the dome and base are Skeldale House Treasures as well as the rose on the base. I just had to increase the height of the dome to accommodate the victorian picture that was really meant for card graphics (I use Printmaster Gold Deluxe). The sparkles are from The Hoods tutorial for same.
