Welcome to Image Gallery 2. Haven't as yet produced a true digitoil, however, I've been experimenting with shading and textures with my graphics tablet. The tool gives exceptionally greater control than that of a "mouse". *smile*

Waiting for Santa

"Waiting for Santa"

This picture is from a greyscaled image provided as one of the weekly challenges by the The Eclectic Guild. The image was compiled on about 20 layers, selecting each section of the fireplace, walls and floor and promoting each selection to it's own layer. It involved a lot of experimentation with shading and textures in PSP 6.0. It is my first effort at creating a room with a perspective.

Jasc fire tubes were used as part of creating the fire in the hearth. I also used their holly and one of their candy canes as decorations on two of the stockings. The snowflakes on one of the stockings is from "The Hoods". The golden bell is courtesy of "Diana". The cute little kitten is part of a Christmas tube by "Rhonnies Stuff". I separated it from it's partner and used the eraser tool to clean up the outline. There are 3 drop shadows applied to it to get, first, the golden glow at the top of the kitten outline, secondly, a small dark drop shadow for the bottom of the outline against the carpet and lastly, a longer fainter shadow extending across the carpet. Makes it almost look angelic. *smile*

The wallpaper is courtesy of Mardi Wetmore "Web Graphics On A Budget". I also used a variation of her tutorial for the mat and picture frame. Frame decorations are made using the letters a,b,c, and d from the font "Orna 4" and applying Mardi's gold_shiny.q9q BladePro preset increasing the glare to 100%.

cornucopia

A fond wish for all my American friends celebrating this week, that they have a wonderful holiday abounding with good food and good company! *smile*

This image is my rendition of a b&w graphics challenge provided by "Graphic Buds". This is another wonderful group of people who enjoy sharing tips, techniques and good fun. They make the web a rather nice place to be! *smile*

Each element was isolated and put on it's own layer. The "painting" process was all completed in PSP 6.0 using the sculpture, texture, tiles (hexagon on bottom of corn) and inner bevel effects tools. I also used the multiple gradient for the left-hand gourd and used the retouch smudge/push tools for blending. Getting better at using my graphics tablet. *smile* The cream silk background is from"Absolute Backgrounds Textures Archive".
The frame is "Fancy Wood" from Mardi (Web Graphics On A Budget).

Thought it turned out rather nice. I've made a tube of the cornucopia part of the graphic which I'll upload at a later date. After all, it's nearly winter, now. *smile*
