This is the first of my "jewel" sets. Maybe I should have called it " Golden Opulence" instead of "Golden Opalessence"! ;-) If you use this set and have a lot of text, might I suggest a separate table for same with a complimentary solid coloured background (I used Hex #dbd8b9). Use view source for the "table within a table html".
A tutorial for the padded side-bar graphic with gradient bars can be found at
"The PSP Users Group".
The tutorial in question is by "Advanced Web Designs", under the name of "Padded Bordered Background".
I have strayed a bit from the original path by using uniform noise and a motion blur, but the
gradient bars are similar.
The opals and Davy's dingbat filigree setting is one of
"Visual Sonnets/The Sandbox" jewel tutorials.
Dr. Jo Ann is a specialist in the discipline of developing unique graphics techniques. I am a frequent visitor to her site.
The frame around the header is the result of experimenting with cut-out settings, hot wax coatings and then using the colorize function with hue and saturation adjustments. It is a variation of "The Hoods" "Gold Medal Gold" quick tips for simple text. The font is "BlackChancery". The Blade-Pro preset used is gold basic.q9q, the same as that used for the jewel setting, bullets, and my home/back links. It looks darker against a deep purple background even with extended radius. The main background was an experimentation before I started making web pages. I can't give you the proper translation, in terms of a tutorial, but you can always take a "slice" (100x100) and keep it as a JPEG, or GIF, if you choose, because it's a seamless tile. ;-)
Please remember to link back to my homepage if you use this set. Thank you.
