This set is the result of more fractal attempts, but this time with the intent of creating a webpage. A lot of "cut and paste" was involved, 'cause I only wanted certain elements of the fractal for the border and accompanying buttons. I found out the "hard way" how difficult it is to translate portions of a fractal bitmap to a JPEG, via PSP files. Colours tend to either become too dark, or, with adjustments to lighting, become too bright/faded, when formatted as JPEGS. It's a very good learning tool for understanding the parameters of your graphics program, though. For the creative, I have included a copy of the original fractal, (generated in Tiera-Zon2) which was used for this set.

So, here's the original blue silk & brocade fractal as a JPEG...

You can probably understand why I was so "enamoured" of it. Had a heck of a time reproducing the gradients, though, for the buttons. The pattern part was a matter of isolating the left hand section (as a rectangle) by half an oval, no anti-alias 'cause this had to be exact. I then duplicated via the image/mirror option; then took that whole selection as a top half of the side bar graphic and used the image/flip option to make it upside down. Cutting and pasting as a new selection was a challenge. The side border bar, the frames for the buttons, and the text for the "welcome header".. were merely a matter of creating a square out of the pattern section and using it as a pattern fill (which had to be filled several times to eliminate light coloured edges, adjusting the colour/brightness/contrast/ by 4 brightness an 0 contrast (this is relevant to the fractal image and preference, your own judgement is best).

The background colour is R=8, G=87, B=142. Shadows are R=4, G=45,=72 at drop shadow of 100% opacity, blur of 8%, vertical and horizontal offset of 6%. The font is "Alpine" at colour, R=119, G=51, B=15, with a drop a shadow of same colour, but only 3,3 offsets. The first bar and bullet were a matter of selecting the lightest blue R=109, G=186, B=242, and using the shiny bevel preset.

Please remember, I still require a link back to my homepage if you use this set. A lot of work went into it. Thank you.
