Bare...Bear Header

Now, I'm going to give you a few more examples of "bare...bears" that I have "dressed" and used in various "Beary Greeting Globes" that I have made, but since I don't want people to be "scrolling webpages forever", I'm putting them into a table with thumbnails for viewing purposes. The .zip files will contain .jpegs at 100%.

(Please remember these are "copyrighted images", and to be used for inspiration for costumes for your own bears only...thank you.)

If you would like to purchase these bears...and many more on a transparent background format,...please visit my online store...HERE. They're really a 'steal' given the time it took to make them! *smile*

I think that you should have enough "sample" images to proceed with the task of making your own costumes now. Feel free to use other resources that are available to you. *smile*

Now open up your "bare...bear" image of choice. Make sure to have your "Layers Palette Toggle On". Start with the piece of clothing that is closest to the body...and make sure you are on the body layer of the bear graphic.

The rest of these instructions will be mainly for making the clothing for the Easter Bear as depicted on the previous page of the tutorial, but the principles for drawing male clothing are basically the same.

After deciding what colour you want to make your main dress...and making the "foreground and background" of your colour palette the same colours, create a new layer, (calling it "dress"), and then select the "draw tool" draw tool using the specifications below left, and make sure your color palette looks similar to the image at the below right:

Try to make the shape of the image in one smooth motion, but if you can't, don't worry, you can go back and make adjustments to the image shape using the "eraser tool", and then reapply the "draw tool" to that section...to get the shape you want. Never just erase a section without redoing that part of the shape, or you will get a jagged outline on that part of your dress.

Your bear should look something like the image below, but twice as big:

Now go to each of the arms and create sleeves for them, using the same technique...ie. "create a new layer for each sleeve, then draw it in. Your bear should now look something like the image below, but, again, twice as big:
